My 3rd great-grandfather, Brice SHIPLEY (1832-1895) and President Abraham LINCOLN (1809-1865) are 3rd cousins, which makes Abe Lincoln my 3rd cousin, 5 generations removed.  Brice and Abe had the same 2nd great-grandfather, Robert SHIPLEY, Sr. (1678-1763).
