Grandpa Otto's horses

My father sent me this picture. He thinks the headstone might be one of our SMITH ancestors, possibly Joseph SMITH, father of James Otto SMITH. I'm not sure, but I think this picture was taken in Oregon, possibly in the area of Oregon City, Clackamas, Damascus, Carver ....
