Dara got Jovita's computer working. He had to splice the wires to the
mouse. Good job Dara! He was testing the railroad game, which seemed to
be working pretty good. Paul got some of the parts for my van .....

-- One of my devotions I read for today, from Lutheran Hour Ministries Devotions:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
Not so long ago, I read a newspaper editorial. It said, "The world is
too big for us. Too much going on, too many crimes, too much violence
and excitement. . . It's an incessant strain to keep pace -- and still,
you lose ground. Science empties its discoveries on you so fast that
you stagger beneath them in hopeless bewilderment..... Everything is
high pressure. Human nature can't endure much more!" Are you surprised
if I tell you that the article was published in The Atlantic Journal on
June 16, 1833 -- more than 160 years ago?
What I'm trying to say is that people don't change. Technology may make
the world more advanced, but people remain the same from one year to
another. Our hopes, our dreams, our sins, and our worries are always
the same. Oh, there's one other thing that's the same. That's our Lord.
His love for us and His presence by our side are the same yesterday,
today and tomorrow. In this "high pressure" world, it's a pretty big
comfort to know He's around.
I found this story quite profound. Over 160 years ago, people were saying the same thing they do today. Ecclesiastes 1:9
tells us, "There is nothing new under the sun." No matter how advanced
this world becomes, mankind still strives with the same problems,
hopes, dreams, desires ... Proverbs 27:20 tells us, "The eyes of man are never satisfied."

Grandpa is coming home in the morning! Welcome back grandpa!! We have
the hospital bed ready and working. Still patching holes, but with the
air compressor, the mattress will stay aired up.
Devotions from Imitation of Christ:
“Until God ordains otherwise, a man ought to bear patiently
whatever he cannot correct in himself and in others. Consider it better
thus -- perhaps to try your patience and to test you, for without such
patience and trial your merits are of little account. Nevertheless,
under such difficulties you should pray that God will consent to help
you bear them calmly.”
“If, after being admonished once or twice, a
person does not amend, do not argue with him but commit the whole
matter to God that His will and honor may be furthered in all His
servants, for God knows well how to turn evil to good. Try to bear
patiently with the defects and infirmities of others, whatever they may
be, because you also have many a fault which others must endure.”
“If all were perfect, what should we have to
suffer from others for God’s sake? But God has so ordained, that
we may learn to bear with one another’s burdens, for there is no
man without fault, no man without burden, no man sufficient to himself
nor wise enough. Hence we must support one another, console one
another, mutually help, counsel, and advise, for the measure of every
man’s virture is best revealed in time of adversity -- adversity
that does not weaken a man but rather shows what he is.”
