Went to Pastor Peoples' church. Pastor Peoples was preaching on how God
is the potter, molding us like clay. He then took the story of Joseph
to go along with the story of the potter ..... and told how no matter
what circumstances Joseph faced, he continued trusting in God, and kept
his integrity. God was with Joseph, even in the midst of the difficult
times .....
After church, went to buy parts for
the van with Paul.
Scripture
for today: Jeremiah 18:
1) The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying: 2) "Arise and
go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause you to hear My
words." 3) Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was,
making something at the wheel. 4) And the vessel that he made of clay
was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another
vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. 5) Then the word of
the Lord came to me, saying: 6) "O house of Israel, can I not do with
you as this potter?" says the Lord. "Look, as the clay is in the
potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!
Genesis 39: 1) Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought
him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. 2) The Lord was
with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of
his master the Egyptian. 3) And his masater saw that the Lord was with
him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. 4) So
Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him
overseer of his house, and all that he had he put in his hand. 5) So it
was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all
that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's
sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house
and in the field. 6) So he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and
he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. And
Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.
Tuesday, June 6, 2006-- Celebrate Recovery: Pastor Scott's son,
Tim, was playing the worship music. Tim is on leave for the summer,
from Liberty Baptist Bible College, Virginia. It was a blessing to have
live music for a change ...... Pastor Scott was teaching on the seven
hangups that keep us from recovery
...... Seven Reasons Why We Get Stuck: 1) You have not done the work on
the previous principle, 2) You have not completely surrendered, 3) You
have not accepted Jesus' work on the cross for your forgiveness, 4) You
have not forgiven those who have harmed you, 5) You still fear
changing, 6) You have not quit blaming and owned your responsibility,
7) You choose to remain too isolated
Scripture
for today: Ephesians 4:
31) Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put
away from you, with all malice. 32) And be kind to one another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also
forgave you.
Hebrews 13: 6) So we may boldy say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
Psalm 139:
23) Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
24) And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way
everlasting.
Proverbs 18: 1) A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he rages against all wise judgment.
